The solution
Nereda was selected as an efficient and cost-effective means to upgrade the works. The delivery partner was ESD, a joint venture between Galliford Try, MWH Treatment and Black & Veatch. Improvements included a new inlet works, improved storm water treatment, a buffer tank and three 2,000m3 Nereda reactors, with the capacity to treat an average flow of 6,758m3 per day with a peak flow of 693m3 per hour. A modular common wall construction design using DFMA maximised efficiency of the installation. EPS, Royal HaskoningDHV’s Nereda Licensee in Ireland provided design and delivery of specialist Nereda components under subcontract to ESD.
